(the wife of the Prophet) In the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) the women used to get up when they finished their compulsory prayers with Taslim. The Prophet (ﷺ) and the men would stay on at their places as long as Allah will. When the

Umm Salamah told her that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when the women said the taslim at the end of the prayer, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the men who had prayed with him would stay put for as long as Allah (ﷺ) willed.

“When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the Salam, the women would stand up when he finished his Taslim, and he would stay where he was for a little while before standing up. (i.e. to depart).”

Umm Salama said that in the time of God’s Messenger, when the women gave the salutation at the end of the prescribed prayer they got up and departed, but God’s Messenger and the men who prayed remained where they were as long as God wished.
