واسع بن حبان بن منقذ بن عمرو بن مالك بن خنساء بن مبذول بن عمرو بن غنم بن مازن بن النجار، الأنصاري المازني المدني. روى عن: رافع بن خديج، وعبد الله بن زيد بن عاصم المازني، وعبد الله بن عمر، وسعد بن المنذر، وقيس بن صعصعة، وأبي سعيد، ووهب بن حذيفة، وجابر. روى عنه: ابنه حبان، وابن أخيه محمد بن يحيى بن حبان. قال أبو زرعة: مدني ثقة. وذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. قلت: ذكره البغوي في الصحابة، وقال: في صحبته مقال. وقال العجلي: مدني تابعي ثقة. وزعم العبدوي أنه شهد بيعة الرضوان.
