(from his father) Abu Qatada went out (on a journey) with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) but he was left behind with some of his companions who were in the state of Ihram. He himself was not in the state of Ihram. They saw an opener before he could

" Is there with you some of its flesh?"

" He (the Prophet) said: 15 there any- thing out of it? They said: We have its leg with us. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took it and ate it."

Yahya related to me from Malik, from Zayd ibn Aslam, that Ata ibn Yasar had told him, from Abu Qatada, the same hadith about the wild ass as that of Abu'n-Nadr, except that in the hadith of Zayd ibn Aslam the Messenger of Allah, (ﷺ), said,

About the wild donkey, and it is similar to the (previous) narrated of Abu An-Nadr except that in the narration of Zaid bin Aslam he said that the Messenger of Allah said: "Do you have any of its meat left with you?"
