'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who vows to obey Allah, should obey Him. But he who vows to disobey Allah, should not disobey Him." <b>[Al- Bukhari]</b>.
وعن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه ومن نذر أن يعصي الله فلا يعصه" ((رواه البخاري)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) Whoever vows to do something good should fulfill his vow and not break it. But if a person vows to commit a sin, his vow is not valid, and he should make expiation like that for a broken oath.<br>
2) A vow over something good should be fulfilled. It is disliked for a person, however, to commit himself to a vow. About making a vow, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “It does not bring good. Indeed, it is only a means by which something is extracted from the miserly.” [Narrated by Muslim]
