Riyad as-Salihin, 1222

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the most generous of the men; and he was the most generous during the month of Ramadan when Jibril visited him every night and recited the Qur'an to him. During this period, the generosity of Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) waxed faster than the rain bearing wind. <b>[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]</b>.

وعن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما‏:‏ قال‏:‏ كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أجود الناس، وكان أجود ما يكون في رمضان حين يلقاه جبريل وكان جبريل يلقاه في كل ليلة من رمضان فيدارسه القرآن فَلَرَسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حين يلقاه جبريل أجود بالخير من الريح المرسلة‏"‏ ‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous among people, giving out money, effort, knowledge, preaching, and advice.<br> 2) Ramadan is a month of generosity. A fortunate person will be generous to his fellow Muslims during this month and will be diligent in doing so, following the Prophet’s example.<br> 3) It is recommended to study the Qur’an and its meanings a lot during Ramadan, the month of the Qur’an.<br> <br> <br> <br> <b>Words in the Hadith:</b><br> Generosity is to give out to people of things one holds dear, like wealth or labor or prestige.
