Hadith text · Matn

‏ خَيْرُ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضُ فَالْبَسُوهَا وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ ‏

‏ ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“The best of your garments are the white ones, so wear them and shroud your dead in them.”

‏ الْبَسُوا ثِيَابَ الْبَيَاضِ فَإِنَّهَا أَطْهَرُ وَأَطْيَبُ ‏

English translation

It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundab that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Wear white garments, for they are purer and better.”

‏ إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا زُرْتُمُ اللَّهَ بِهِ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ وَمَسَاجِدِكُمُ الْبَيَاضُ ‏

‏ ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated from Abu Darda’ that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“The best of that in which you visit Allah in your graves and your mosque is white (garments).”*
