Hadith text · Matn

‏ اِئْتَدِمُوا بِالزَّيْتِ وَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ ‏

English translation

It was narrated from ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

‘Season (your food) with olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree.”

‏ كُلُوا الزَّيْتَ وَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ فَإِنَّهُ مُبَارَكٌ ‏

English translation

‘Abdullah bin Sa’eed narrated that his grandfather said:

“I heard Abu Hurairah say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Eat (olive) oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it is blessed.’”
