    المكي بن محمد الكتاني وفي صباح يوم الثلاثاء خامس عشر قعدة توفي الشيخ المكي بن الشيخ محمد بن الشيخ جعفر بن إدريس الكتاني. تقدمت وفاة والده عام خمسة وأربعين وثلاثمائة وألف. توفي بدمشق الشام، وصليت عليه صلاة الغائب بالمغرب في عشية يوم الجمعة ثاني عشري محرم الحرام عام أربعة وتسعين وثلاثمائة وألف، ووقع حفل تأبينه من طرف رابطة العلماء بالمغرب، ألقيت فيه عدة خطب وكلمات وأشعار، وكان ذلك بمسرح محمد الخامس بالرباط. وقد بلغني أنه استمر إلى الساعة التاسعة والنصف ليلا. وهو من مواليد فاس، لكنه انتقل مع والده ثم رجع إلى المغرب. ولما توفي والده انتقل إلى دمشق الشام وبها كانت وفاته.
