    عبد الحي بن عبد الكبير الكتاني وفي فجر يوم الجمعة ثامن وعشري ربيع الثاني وصل الخبر إلى المغرب بوفاة عبد الحي بن الشيخ عبد الكبير بن محمد بن عبد الواحد الكتاني الحسني، توفي بنواحي عاصمة باريز بفرنسا ونقل إلى محل قريب منها ودفن بروضة الجالية المسلمة التي بباريز. تقدمت وفاة والده عام ثلاثة وثلاثين وثلاثمائة وألف، الشيخ المحدث المسند المؤرخ النسابة المطلع، كان يعد من أساطين العلم المبرزين بالمغرب، لكنه انحرف سياسيا فقضى على علمه وجاهه ونفسه والأمر لله. انظر كتابنا سل النصال فقد أطلت في ترجمة (١).
