    المهدي بن الطالب ابن سودة وفي يوم الخميس رابع رمضان توفي الشيخ المهدي بن الطالب بن محمد-فتحا-ابن سودة. تقدمت وفاة والده عام ثلاثة وأربعين ومائتين وألف كانت ولادته عام عشرين ومائتين وألف. الشيخ الحافظ الحجة الإمام خاتمة المحققين، وإمام المدرسين، النفاعة المشارك شيخ سلطان وقته. له عدة تآليف، منها حاشية على شرح الخرشى على المختصر في أربعة أسفار؛ وحاشية على شرح المحلي على جمع الجوامع؛ وحاشية على شرح بناني على السلم؛ وحاشية على رسالة الوضع؛ وفهرسة، إلى غير ذلك من التآليف، وترجمته واسعة. انظر الأصل. دفن بمحل اتّخذ زاوية له أسفل العقبة الزرقاء.
