محمد بن عبد الله الخطيب وفي رابع وعشري شوال توفي محمد بن عبد الله الخطيب، من أولاد الخطيب المعروفين بمدينة تطوان، وأصلهم من الأندلس. كان في أول أمره يتعاطى التجارة ثم أسند إليه السلطان المولى عبد الرحمان وظيفة في النيابة عنه في مباشرة الشؤون الخارجية مع سفراء الدول الأجانب وقناصلها بطنجة، واستمر في هذا الوظيف نحو العشرين سنة، ثم طلب الإعفاء فأ عفي، وأقبل على عبادة ربه حتى توفي ببلده تطوان.
