(٣٦٣) هـ - داود بن علي بن عبد الله بن عباس بن عبد المطلب الهاشمي أبو سليمان الشامي: روى عن أبيه عن جدَّه. وعنه الأوزاعي، وابن جريج، والثوري، وغيرهم. قال عثمان الدارمي، عن ابن معين: "أرجو أنه ليس يكذب إنما يُحدِّث بحديث واحد"، وذكره ابن حِبَّان في "الثقات" وقال: "يُخطئ"، وقال ابن عدي: "عندي أنه لا بأس برواياته عن أبيه، عن جده فإن عامةما يرويه عن أبيه، عن جده"، توفي سنة [١٣٣ هـ]، وهو والٍ على المدينة، ليلة هلال ربيع الأول، وهو ابن [٥٢] سنة. ا. هـ. باختصار وتصرف. قلت: قال أبو بكر البزار: "لم يكن بالقوي في الحديث، على أنه لا يتوهم عليه إلاَّ الصدق، وإنما يُكتب من حديثه ما لم يروه غيره" (١).
