علي بن موسى بن علي بن هرون (وبه اشتهر) المطغري، أبو الحسن: فقيه مالكي، من كبارهم، له مشاركة في علوم التفسير والعربية والحساب والفرائشوغيرها. ولد في مطغرة من أعمال تلمسان، وانتقل الى فاس سنة ٨٩١هـ فلازم العلامة ابن غازي ٢٩ سنة في البحث والتحقيق، وأخذ عنه وعن ابنه أحمد. قال في نيل الابتهاج "توفي وقد ناف عن ثمانين وحضر جنازته السلطان فمن دونه، وافادته لا ساحل لها حتى كأنه لا يتنفس إلا بفائدة، كان غاية في حفط لا يقف، لم بخلف بعده في فنه مثله، متواضعا، منصفا، كثير التلاوة .. ". (١) المعافري (القرن ٧ الهجري / القرن ١٣ ميلادي).
