أحمد بن الحسين بن محمد المهدوي المسيلي، أبو الطيب: شاعر، أديب، قاض، من أهل المسيلة. دخل الاندلس، وولي القضاء بفاس بالمغرب الأقصى. قال ابن دحية: من أعيان شعراء المغرب الراسخين في الأدب، المتمسكين فيه بأمتن سبب، له مقطعات غزل أحسن من قطع الرياض، وأغزل من العيون الرياض، وكان شعره مدونا بالثغر الأعلى بمدينة سرقسطة .. استوطن آخرا مدينة فاس، وولي أحكام القضاء بها. وكان محمود الحال، حسن الخلق، قوالا بالحق الى ان توفي " .. واورد له نماذج من شعره.
