ناصر بن أحمد بن يوسف بن منصور بن فضل، الفزاري البسكري، المعروف (بابن مزني، أبو زيان، ويقال أبو علي)بابن مزني، أبو زيان، ويقال أبو علي: مؤرخ، من الفقهاء العلماء، ولد في بسكرة من أسرة كريمة كانت لها رئاسة الزاب، وأخذ عن علي بن عبد الرحمن التوزري والإمام ابن عرفة وغيرهما. وفي السنة ٨٠٣هـ (١٤٠٠ م) قدم القاهرة حاجا واتصل بالمؤرخ ابن خلدون ولازم حافظ الاسلام ابن حجر العسقلاني. جمع كتابا كبيرا في تاريخ الرواة، مات قبل تبييضه فتفرق شذر مذر، قال ابن حجر: " لو قدر ان يبيضه لكان مائة مجلدة". وعمي سنة ٨٢٢هـ أي قبل وفاته بسنة. توفي بالقاهرة.
