علي بن (أبي القاسم) محمد التميمي، أبو الحسن، القسنطيني: متكلم، أشعري، محدث، من الفقهاء، من أهل قسنطينة. رحل إلى المشرق فزار دمشق وسمع بها صحيح البخاري من الفقيه نصر ابن ابراهيم المقدسي شيخ الشافعية في عصره بالشام، ثم انتقل الى بغداد فقرأ بالنظامية على محمد بن عتيق التميمي القيرواني الأشعري. وعاد إلى دمشق فأكرمه رئيسها أبو داود المفرج بن الصوفي. يذكر عنه انه كان يعمل كيمياء الفضة. توفي بدمشق. من آثاره "تنزيه الإله وكشف فضائح المشبهةالحشوية ".
