محمد بن يحيى بن علي، أبو عبد الله، الشهير بابن النجار التلمساني: من كبار علماء تلمسان في عصره. سماه ابن خلدون "شيخ التعاليم"، ذكر انه كان إماما في علوم النجامة وأحكامها وما يتعلق بها. أخذ عن علماء تلمسان وسبتة ومراكش. ولما استولى السلطان أبو الحسن المريني عمل تلمسان سنة ٧٣٧هـ نظمه في جملته وأجرى له الارزاق. ثم توجه مع السلطان الى تونس سنة ٧٤٨هـ فتوفي في الوباء العام (الطاعون). له " فتاوى " نقلها الونشريسي.
