أحمد بن محمد بن المختار بن أحمد الشريف التجاني، أبو العباس: شيخ "الطائفة التجانية" بالمغرب، عالم بالأصول والفروع، ملم بالأدب، من فقهاء المالكية. ولد في عين ماضي، ودخل فاس سنة ١١٧١هـ وسمع بها شيئا من الحديث، ثم دخل تلمسان ودرس بها. وحج سنة ١١٨٦هـ فمر بتونس وأقام بها مدة. وعاد الى فاس، ثم رحل الى "توات" وأخرج منها، فاستقر بفاس (سنة ١٢١٣هـ) الى ان توفي. من آثاره "ورد" مخطوط، في ١٠ ورقات، في خزانة الرباط. ولبعض أصحابه كتب في سيرته، منها "جواهر المعاني وبلوغ الأماني في فيض أبي العباس أحمد التجاني" (١) التدلسي ( .. - ٨٧٧هـ / .. - ١٤٧٢م)
