١ - علي بن صالح بن صالح بن حي، أبو الحسن، ويقال: أبو محمد، الهمداني الكوفي، أخو الحسن. حدث عن أبيه، وسلمة بن كُهيل، وإبراهيم بن مهاجر، وعلي بن الأقمر، وأبي بكر بن أبي الجهم (٢)، وسماك بن حرب، وأبي إسحاق الهمداني، وأبي يعفور العبدي، وإسماعيل بن أبي خالد. روى عنه: أخوه الحسن، ووكيع، وعبد الله بن داود الخريبي (٣)، وعبيد الله بن موسى، وأبو نعيم الفضل بن دكين، ومعاوية بن هشام. قال الخطيب: أنا القاضي أبو محمد الحسن بن الحسين بن محمد بن رامين الإستراباذي: أنا أحمد بن جعفر بن حمدان بن مالك القطيعي: ثنا محمد بن يونس، قال: سمعت أبا نعيم يقول: مات علي بن صالح سنة سبع وخمسين ومائة.
