١ - علي بن علي بن السائب بن يزيد بن ركانة بن عبد المطلب، يعد في الكوفيين. حدث عن سالم بن عبد الله بن عمر، وإبراهيم النخعي. روى عنه: قيس بن الربيع، وشريك بن عبد الله. قال الخطيب: أنا محمد بن عبد الواحد الأكبر: أنا محمد بن العباس: أنا أحمد بن سعيد بن مرابا: ثنا عباس بن محمد، قال: سمعت يحيى بن معين يقول: حدث شريك عن علي بن علي، وهو كوفي. قلت: لعله علي بن علي البصري. فقال يحيى: لا، هذا علي بن علي بن السائب، ولم يرو عنه إلا شريك. قال يحيى: وعلي بن علي هذا حدث عن إبراهيم النخعي.
