٢ - شعيب بن إبراهيم بن شعيب، أبو صالح العجلي البيهقي الأديب. سمع: محمد بن رافع القشيري، ومحمد بن يحيى الذُّهلي، وأحمد بنسعيد الدَّارمي، ورحل إلى العراق فكتب عن الحسن بن محمد الزَّعْفَراني، ومحمد بن إسماعيل الأحمسي، وأحمد بن عثمان الأودي، وكتب بمكة عن محمد بن أبي عبد الرحمن المقرئ، ورجع إلى بلده فحدث. روى عنه: إبراهيم بن عبد الله الأصبهاني نزيل نيسابور، وأبو العباس أحمد بن محمد الأنماطي وغيرهما. توفي سنة إحدى عشرة وثلاثمائة، قاله أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الحافظ.
