محمد بن أحمد، أبو عمرو الصغير. قال الخليلي: نيسابوري حافظ، سمع أبا يعلى، وحامد بن شعيب، وابن قتيبة، وأصحاب هشام بن عمار، وغيرهم من شيوخ العراق والشام، سمعت الحاكم أبا عبد الله يقول: كان فقيهاً أديباً ورعاً صاحب حديث. وقال الحاكم: سمعت أحمد بن محمد يقول: سمعت عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل يقول: قلت لأبي وسألته عن إبراهيم بن موسى الرازي الصغير؟ فقال: يا بني لا تقول: الصغير، هو كبير هو كبير هو كبير (٣)، قال الحاكم: وهذا مثل ضربته لأبي عمرو فإنه كبير كبير كبير (٤)، مات سنة نيف وسبعين وثلاثمائة (٥). ٩٤٢٠ -
