عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن إسحاق بن محمد بن منده الأصفهاني، الحافظ ابن الحافظ. أجاز له زاهر بن أحمد السَّرْخَسي، وروى الكثير عن أبيه، وأبي جعفر الأَبْهَري، وطائفة، وسمع بنيسابور من أصحاب الأصم، وبمكة من ابن جَهْضَم، وبَهَمَذَان والدِّيْنَوَر وشيراز، وبغداد. قال الذهبي: له أصحاب وأتباع، وفيه تسنن مفرط، أوقع بعض العلماء في الكلام في معتقده، وتوهموا فيه التجسيم، وهو بريء منه فيما علمت، ولكن لوقصَّر من شأنه كان أولى به، وكان ذا سمت. وقال: توفي سنة سبعين وأربعمائة وله تسع وثمانون سنة (١). ٦٧١٦ -
