عباس بن الفضل بن شاذان. سمع: أحمد بن أبي سُرَيج، ومحمد بن حميد، وحميد بن زنجويه، وعبد الرحمن بن عمر الزهري الأصبهاني، ومحمد بن علي بن شقيق، وأبا زرعة، وأبا حاتم. قال الخليلي في «الإرشاد» (١): أدركت ممن كتب عنه ثمانية نفر، وكان كبير المحل بالرَّي في السُّنة، يقارن بابن أبي حاتم في شأنه، وله معرفة عظيمة بالقراءات والتفسير، وتصانيف كثيرة، حكى لي بعض أهل الري أن الجن كانت تستمع إليه وتبكي، دخل [١٠ - أ] قزوين عند خروجه إلى الغزو سنة عشر وثلاثمائة. ٥٦٥٧ -
