الحسن بن علي بن يزيد، أبو علي النيسابوري. قال الخليلي (٥): هو الحافظ الكبير، إمام في وقته، متفق عليه، تلمذ عليه الحفاظ، وارتحل إلى الشام ومصر والعراق، أدرك أبا خليفة وابن قتيبة العسقلاني وأبا عبد الرحمن النسائي وأقرانهم، كتب عن قريب من ألفي شيخ، ولُقِّبَ في صباه بالحافظ. قال الحاكم: لست أقول تعصباً له لأنه (٦) أستاذي، ولكن لم أر مثله قط.وقال ابن المقرئ الأصبهاني: أدعوا له في أدبار الصلوات؛ لأني كنت أتبعه من (١) شيوخ الشام ومصر حتى حصلت على ما أرويه. توفي سنة تسع وأربعين وثلاثمائة. ٢٨٣٩ -
