أحمد بن مُغيث، أبو جعفر العَبْدي. روى عن أبي بكر خلف بن أحمد، وأبي محمد بن عياش (٣)، وغيرهما. قال ابن بشكوال (٤): هو من أهل البراعة والفهم والرياسة في العلم، متفننًا عالمًا بالحديث وعلله، وبالفرائض، والحساب، واللغة، والإعراب، والتفسير، وعقد الشروط، وله فيها كتاب سماه «المقنع». توفي سنة تسع وخمسين وأربعمائة.٨٢٥ -
