أحمد بن محمد بن الفرج الحافظ، المعروف بِمَتْويه. قال الخليلي (٤): سمع عمرو بن سلمة الجعفي، ويحيى بن عبدك وكثير بن شهاب، والصَّغَاني، وحمدان الجوزجاني، ومحمد بن إسماعيل الصائغوغيرهم من القزوينيين، والعراقيين، والحجازيين، قديم الموت، سمع منه شيوخ العراق لحفظه، وروى عنه أبو الحسن القطان، وأبو داود الفامي (١) أحاديث، ولم نُدرك ممن روى عنه إلا علي بن أحمد بن صالح (٢). ٧٣٨ -
