أحمد بن حمدان بن علي بن سنان، أبو جعفر الحِيريّ، الزَّاهد النيسابوري. سمع الذُّهْلي وجماعة.قال الخطيب: كان مجاب الدعوة، معروفاً بالخير والعبادة من حَداثته، ولم يزل يطلب «الصحيح على شرط مسلم بن الحجاج» حتى صنفه، وبقيت عليه أحاديث معدودة فرحل بسببها إلى العراق. توفي سنة إحدى عشرة وثلاثمائة (١). ١٩٧ -
