[ق ٢٠٦/أ] ذكره ابن حبان في كتاب " الثقات " وقال: مستقيم الحديث.كذا ذكره المزي وقد أغفل منه – إن كان رآه – شيئًا عرى كتابه منه جملة وهو: مات سنة بضع وأربعين ومائتين وخرج حديثه في " صحيحه " عن الحسن بن سفيان عنه. وقال مسلمة: روى عنه بقي – يعني – ولا يروي إلا عن ثقة عنده كما أسلفناه. وفي كتاب " الجرح والتعديل " عن الدارقطني: لا بأس به.
