٢٥٥٧ - (٤) ضمرة بن حبيب بن صهيب الزبيري أبو عتبة الشامي والد عتبة. ذكره ابن حبان في " الثقات " كذا ذكره المزي وهو بحمد الله لا ينقل شيئا إلا معوزا وذلك أنه لم يذكر له وفاة البتة وهي ثابتة في الكتاب الذي نقل منه توثيقه، قال ابن حبان في " الثقات ": كنيته أبو عتبة وقيل: أبو بشر مات سنة ثلاثين ومائة وكان مؤذن مسجد دمشق.ولما ذكره ابن خلفون في " الثقات " قال: هو من مشاهير أهل الشام وعبادهم، وهو أخو مهاجر بن حبيب وثقه ابن صالح وغيره. وخرج الحاكم حديثه في " المستدرك " وحسنه الطوسي. وذكره خليفة في الطبقة الثالثة مع الذين توفوا في الثلاثين ونحوها.
