٧٤٥٥ - ز - محمد بن مَهْدي البكري. قال حَمْدِيْس القطان: سمعت سَحْنُونًا يقول: ابن مهدي ضالّ مُضِل. وكانت له كتب، فكان عبد الجبار بن خالد الفقيه القيرواني يقرؤها، وكان صديق حمديس، فنهاه عن قراءتها، فامتَنَع، فهَجَره أربعًا وعشرين سنة، وكان حمديس ينهى الناس عن السماع من عبدُ الجبار، وكان عبدُ الجبار إذا مَرَّ بحمديس يسلِّم عليه فلا يردّ عليه، فيقول عبد الجبار: ما هَجَرني إلَّا للّه، ويقول حمديس: عبد الجبار رجلٌ صالح. ذكر ذلك عِياض في ترجمة عبد الجبار (¬٢).
