٧١٦٩ - ز - محمد بن عطية، أبو عبد الرحمن الشاعرُ العَطَوي. وقيل هو ابن عبد الرحمن بن عطية، بصري. يعدّ من متكلِّمي المعتزلة، وكان يذهب مذهب الحسين النجار، اتصل بابن أبي دُؤاد، فحَظِي عنده، وهو حسنُ الأشعار، جيد الأوصاف. قال المبرد: كان ظاهر الدَّمامة والوَسَخ، مقتَّرًا عليه، مَنْهُومًا بالنبيذ، وله فيه وفي الصَّبوح أشعار كثيرة.
