    ٥١٧٠ - ز - عثمان الطَّوِيل، من أهل الجزيرة، عِداده في أهل البصرة، يروي عن أنس بن مالك، رُبَّما أخطأ، روى عنه شعبة، وزهير. هكذا قال ابن حبان في "الثقات". قلت: وأورد ابن عدي في ترجمة أبي العالية (¬١)، من طريق حَكّام بن سَلْم، عن عنبسة بن سعيد، عن عثمان الطويل، عن رُفيع أبي العالية، قال: خطبنا أبو بكر … فذكر حديثًا في قَصْر الصلاة وقال: لا يرويه عن عنبسة غيرُ حَكّام. وعثمانُ الطويل عزيز المُسْنَد (¬٢)، إنما له هذا الحديث، وآخَر عن أنس.
