    ٤٠٧٦ - ز- عباد بن سليمان الصَّيْمَرِيّ، من كبار المعتزلة، وبينه وبين عبد الله بن سعيد بن كُلَّاب مناظرة، وكان في أيام المأمون. وهو الذي زعم أنَّ بين اللفظ والمعنى طبيعةٌ مناسِبة، فردوا عليه ذلك، وكان أخذ عن هشام بن عَمْرو، وكان أبو علي الجُبَّائي يصفه بالحِذْق. قاله النديم في "الفهرست". وقال ابن حزم في "الملل والنحل": كان يقول: إن الله لم يخلق الكُفْرَ ولا الإِيمان.
