    ٢٥٨٠ - صح- الحسين بن علي المصري الفَرَّاء، لحقه ابنُ عدي (¬١). لَيَّنه بعضهم. وقال ابن عدي: لم أر له شيئًا منكرًا، انتهى. قال ابن عدى: كتبت عنه، وكان مؤذِّن مسجد محمد بن نصر بن رَوْح الخَوَّاص، وسمعت محمد بن نصر -وكان من عباد الله الصالحين- يضعّفه جدًّا. قلت: وحدَّث عنه ابن المقرئ في "معجمه". وذكره ابن يونس فقال: الحسين بن علي بن الحسين بن يزيد بن نافع الفَرّاء، يكنى أبا علي، نَسَبُه في مُرَاد. يروي عن محمد بن سلمة، والحارث بن مسكين، وغيرهما، ومات في شوال سنة ٣٠٩، ولم يَذكر فيه جَرْحًا.
