    ٨١٦ - قيس أبو الأقلح بن عِصْمةَ بن مالك بن أمية بن ضبيعة, من حُلفاء الأوس شَهدَ بدرًا. قاله أبو موسى. قال ابن الأثير (٢): قيس هذا هو جَد عاصم بن ثابت بن أبي الأقلح، واسم أبي الأقلح: قيس بن عِصْمَة بن مالك بن أُمية بن ضبيعة بن زيد بن مالك: وليست له صحْبة؛ هو قبل سيدنا رسُول الله ﷺ , وَحفيدُه: عاصم هو الذي حَماه الدَبْر؛ وقصَّتُه مَشهورة، ولعله قد سَقط اسمُه واسم أَبيه، ولم ينقل أبو موسى هَذا القولَ عن أحد، وقوله: "إنه من حُلفاء الأوس" ليس بشيء؛ لأن نسبَه في الأوس مَشهورٌ، وبنو ضُبيعة بن زيد بطن مَعْروف من الأوس ليسُوا بحُلفاء.
