    مصعب بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف الزهري. أحد الكبار الذين كانوا مع ابن الزبير، وقتل معه في الحصار سنة أربع وستين. كان مصعب هذا قد ولي قضاء المدينة، وشرطتها في إمرة مروان عليها، ثم لحق بابن الزبير، وكان بطلا شجاعا، له مواقف مشهودة، قتل عدة من الشاميين، ثم توفي، فلما مات هو والمسور دعا ابن الزبير إلى نفسه. ١٠٥ -
