الشيخ مصطفى بن عبد الجليل بن أحمد بن عبد اللطيف بن محمد بن محمد بن أحمد بن محمد شمس الدين بن تقي الدين بن أبي بكر بن عبد الهادي الدمشقي الحنفي العمري نسبة إلى سيدنا عمر بن الخطاب ﵁، ولد المترجم في دمشق ومنذ نشأ لاحت عليه لوائح الأحوال، إلى أن صار يعد من الأبدال، وكان لا يخبر بخبر إلا ووقع كما أفاد وأخبر، وكان لا يتقيد بالأحوال الظاهرية، وكان له في بعض الأيام تطورات قوية، ويتكلم بكثير منالكلام لا يعلم له مرام، مات غرة ذي الحجة سنة خمس وستين ومائتين وألف ودفن في مرج الدحداح.
