الشيخ مصطفى بن محمود بن معروف بن عبد الله بن مصطفى الدمشقي الحنبلي المعروف بابن شطي الصالح الورع الزاهد العابد، أحد علماء دمشق الشام وعظمائها السادة الأعلام. ولد بدمشق سنة ثلاث وتسعين ومائة وألفونشأ بها وأخذ الفقه عن العلامة الشيخ مصطفى السيوطي الحنبلي مفتي الحنابلة بدمشق، وأخذ الحديث الشريف عن العلامة الشمس الشيخ محمد الكزبري، والعلامة الشهاب أحمد العطار، والعلوم العربية عن العلامة عبد القادر الميداني، والعلامة السيد محمد شاكر العقاد الشهير بمقدم سعد. مات رحمه الله تعالى ليلة الجمعة غرة رجب الحرام سنة تسع وستين ومائتين وألف، ودفن بسفح قاسيون قرب مغارة الجوعية.
