الشيخ محمد الزهري بن عمر بن محمد بن محمد بن عمر الدمياطي الأصل الدمشقي الحنفي المعروف باليافي الخلوتي، شيخ الطريقة الخلوتية بدمشق المحمية الشيخ الصالح المؤدب المرشد الناصح، الورع الزاهد والناسك العابد، الخاشع. ولد بدمشق ونشأ بها، وأحيا الطريقة الخلوتية وأقام الأذكار، واشتهر صلاحه وزهده وورعه وتقواه في هذه الديار، وشاع صيته في سائر الأقطار، وكان ذا هيبة ووقار، أخذ الطريقة الخلوتية عن أبيه وألبسه الخرقة وأذن له في الأذكار، وأعطاء الطريق لمستحقه، ولا زال عاملاً بما أوصاه به والده إلى أن خطبته المنية سنة سبعين ومائتين وألف، ودفن في تربة الدحداح عنده والده.
