الشيخ محمد أفندي بن الشريف إسماعيل أفندي العجلاني الدمشقي الميداني مفخر الشرفاء الكرام ونخبة ذوي النسب العظام، يتصل نسبه الشريف بسيدنا رسول الله ﷺ. كان ذا أخلاق كريمة ومروءة عالية فخيمة، وشمائل جميلة، وله التفات إلى اكتساب ما يحصل به أنواع الفضيلة. ولا ينكر ذلك عليه لأنه من نسل من ينسب كل كمال إليه. توفي يوم الأربعاء عند الضحوة الكبرى ثالث عشر شوال سنة ثلاث وخمسين ومائتين وألف، ودفن بمدفنهم المعروف بمدفن بني العجلاني. وهو في سوق الغنم تجاه مقبرة باب الصغير.
