السيد عبد الله بن عابدين الدمشقي الحنفي الماتريدي إمام قد تحلى بالفضائل، وارتدى بأجمل الشمائل، وأكب على العلم والطلب، إلى أن نال المرام والأرب، وكان شهماً فاضلاً، عالماً عاملاً، حسن الاعتقاد، جميل المعاملة والوداد، ذا تقوى وعبادة، وصيانة وزهادة، وكان مقدم الطريقة النقشية، في جامع بني أمية، وله أحوال عجيبة، ومكاشفات غريبة، وكرامات مشهودة، وصفات محمودة. توفي يوم الجمعة في صلاة العصر في السجدة الثانية من الركعة الثانية في اليوم التاسع عشر من شعبان سنة تسع وخمسين ومائتين وألف ودفن في مقبرة باب الصغير قرب قبر المرحوم السيد محمد عابدين المشهور.
