الشيخ صالح بن سعيد بن أحمد الدمشقي الحنفي المعروف بالأسطواني ولد بدمشق سنة عشر ومائتين وألف ونشأ بها، وقرأ على الأفاضل، وكان صالحاً لطيفاً متواضعاً لين الجانب حسن الأخلاق مواظباً على صلاة الجماعة لا يشغله عنها شاغل، وتولى خطابة الجامع الأموي فخطب مدة ثم فرغها على ولده راغب أفندي. مات صاحب الترجمة عاشر ربيع الآخر سنة ألف ومائتين وأربع وتسعين ودفن في مقبرة الذهبية في الدحداح.
