حسين أفندي بن علي أفندي المرادي مفتي دمشق الشام عالم عامل، وإمام فاضل، ولد في دمشق سنة ألف ومائتين، وغب أن قرأ القرآن، وجوده على ذوي العرفان، أخذ عن عمه خليل أفندي، وعن السيد شاكر مقدم سعد، وعن غيرهم من علماء الشام، ذوي المناقب والشمائل والفضل التام، وقد تولى منصب الإفتاء عن استحقاق، ولم يزل إلى أن دعاه داعي الفراق إلى الرفاق، وكانت وفاته سنة ألف ومائتين وسبع وستين، ودفن في مدفن بني المرادي في دارهم في سوق صاروجا رحمه الله تعالى.
