الشيخ بلبل أفندي بن عاشر أفندي الواعظ في جامع بني أمية في دمشق المحمية عالم عامل، وزاهد فاضل، كثير البكاء والخشوع، كأنه على العبادة والتقوى مجبول ومطبوع، وكان له في الوعظ أسلوب حسن، وإلقاء مستحسن، تتأثر منه القلوب، تكاد من تأثرها أن تذوب. توفي ﵀ سنة إحدى وستين ومائتين وألف في اليوم الخامس عشر من المحرم الحرام.
