الشيخ أحمد البقاعي الدمشقي الشافعي أخذ عن سيدي الوالد وعن العلامة الشيخ عبد الرحمن الكزبري وعن الشيخ حامد العطار، واشتهر صيته وطار، وملأ النواحي والأقطار، وكان كثير الورع زاهداً في الدنيا مقبلاً على الآخرة، معتزلاً عن الناس راضياً بالقليل، ليس له كلام إلا بما يتعلق بالوعظ والترغيب في التقوى والعبادة، وكان كلامه خفيفاً على النفوس مقبولاً. توفي بدمشق سنة ثمان وستين ومائتين وألف ودفن في مقبرة باب الصغير.
