ثم وجه التدريس للعلامة والحبر الفهامة علي أفندي الداغستاني فدرس إلى أن أصابه داء الفالج في صفر سنة ست وتسعين، فأنابالجهبذ النحرير الشمس محمد الكزبري فدرس بالنيابة عنه أربع سنوات، إلى أن توفي الداغستاني ليلة الخميس ثالث عشر ذي الحجة سنة تسع وتسعين ومائة وألف ودفن بسفح قاسيون.
