الشيخ أبو الفتح ابن الشيخ عبد القادر ابن الشيخ صالح الخطيب الشافعي الدمشقي ولد بدمشق ونشأ بها وتخرج بأبيه وأقرأ في رسائل نحوية وفقهية في مدرسة الخياطين، وله حلقة تدريس بجامع بني أمية بين العشائين، وتولى خطابة الأحمدية، وإمامة مسجد برأس سوق الخياطين ومحافظة المكتبة بالمدرسة الظاهرية، وكان فقيراً قانعاً شرح الأجرومية والعوامل، واختصر بعض أجزاء من تاريخ ابن عساكر من النسخة الموجودة في المكتبة الظاهرية على تحريفها وكانت وفاته في تاسع المحرم سنة خمس عشرة وثلاثمائة وألف.
