أبو محمد عبد الحميد بن محمد المغربي المعروف بابن الصائغ. قيرواني. سكن سوسة. أدرك صغيرًا أبا بكر بن عبد الرحمن، وأبا عمران. وتفقه بالعطار، وابن محرز والبوني، والتونسي والسيوري، وسمع أبا ذر الهروي، وكان فقيهًا نبيلًا فهمًا فاضلًا، أصوليًازاهدًا نظارًا، جيد الفقه، قوي العارضة، محققًا. وله تعليق على المدونة. أكمل بها الكتب التي بقيت على التونسي. وبه تفقه أبو عبد الله المازري، المهدوي، وأبو علي ابن البربري، وأبو الحسن الحوفي، وأخذ عنه من أهل الأندلس: أبو بكر بن عطية. وأصحابه يفضلونه على أبي الحسن اللخمي، قرينه، تفضيلًا كثيرًا.
