    أبو جميل البصري ﵀. ذكره القاضي أبو بكر بن الطيب. قال: كان بالبصرة رجل من الفقهاء على مذهب مالك بن أنس، من آل حماد بن زيد، يعرف بابن جميل. قال القاضي أبو بكر: وكان يحب كلام الحارث بن أسد المحاسبي. فذكر عنه أنه اجتمع عنده للحارث نحو أربعمائة مصنف بين صغير وكبير. قال القاضي ﵀: لا حقيقة عندي، من ضبط اسم هذا الرجل. إذ لم أروِه، ولا وجدته بخط من أعول عليه. ولا حقيقة عندي من تصحيح طبقته. أهو من هذه أو من التي قبلها أو من غيرهم؟
